What is Jaundice ?
Jaundice is a condition where the skin and the whites of the eyes turn yellow. This happens because there is too much bilirubin in the blood. Bilirubin is a yellow substance that forms when red blood cells break down. Normally, the liver processes bilirubin, but if the liver can't keep up, bilirubin builds up and causes jaundice. It is common in newborn babies and usually goes away with treatment.

Jaundice in newborns is a common condition where a baby's skin and the whites of their eyes turn yellow. This happens because their liver is not yet fully developed and can't process bilirubin efficiently. Bilirubin is a yellow substance produced when old red blood cells break down.
